Dr. Trujillo brings tremendous training with a B.S. degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He received his D.D.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and then stayed at UCLA to complete his Specialty in Periodontal Surgery and Implantology.
Over the past 6 years he has conducted research in oral pathology and bioengineering at UCLA. His research has focused on the diagnosis and treatment of oral desquamative lesions (e.g. Lichen Planus), as well as the fabrication of composite scaffolds capable of the controlled delivery of growth factors.
In 2012, Dr. Trujillo received the "Clinical Periodontal Therapy Award" from the California Society of Periodontists. He is an active member of the following organizations:
- American Academy of Periodontology
- California Society of Periodontists
- Hispanic Dental Association
- California Dental Society
- American Dental Association
In addition to being fluent in Spanish, Dr. Trujillo’s expertise also includes training in IV Sedation, which is readily available to patients in our office! Dr. Trujillo also has had extensive training in the analysis of Advanced 3D imaging, and will continue to provide and invite this service to the patients of our community.
Dr. Trujillo and his wife Meghan have moved to Merced from Salinas, CA. They have enjoyed the community, and are looking forward to raising their family in Merced
